Questions about the e-vignette

Vehicles of these categories, with a maximum permissible laden weight of 3.5 tons, are required to pay vignette charges:

  • Vehicles with at least four wheels and intended for passenger transport
  • Vehicles with at least four wheels and intended for goods transport
  • All-terrain vehicles
Semi-trailer tractors, deemed as vehicles for goods transport with more than 2 axles.

Vehicles with a trailer with a permissible laden weight that exceeds 3.5 tons require an additional vignette for the trailer in the same category.

e-vignettes are subject to controls by Bulgaria’s National Toll Administration, the Ministry of Interior and the Customs Agency. Your registration number will be stored in the electronic toll system. In the event of a control, your registration number will be checked to verify that it is registered in the digital toll system. All control authorities have special control devices, enabling them to check e-vignettes at any time.
No, the e-vignette is 100% digital. We’ll register your registration number for you in the digital toll system. You’ll then be entitled to use toll roads in Bulgaria. You no longer need to display a paper vignette on your windscreen.

The registration process is very simple. It’ll take you just 2 minutes to enter all the necessary data. Once you’ve completed your registration, it’ll take 10 minutes maximum for your registration to be transmitted to the Bulgarian toll system. You’ll receive confirmation by e-mail as soon as your registration number has been registered. Please do not travel until you have received your registration confirmation.
Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive confirmation of this as a PDF. You can print out this registration confirmation and take it with you; you are not, however, required to do so. In the event of a control, your registration will be checked digitally only.
Yes, during the registration process, you can specify a start date. Your e-vignette will then be valid from your chosen start date.

We accept all common payment methods, including PayPal, all major credit cards and Bcard, the Bulgarian national card scheme.
Unfortunately, you can’t make any changes once you’ve been registered in the toll system. This is due to the statutory provisions of the toll company. If you wish to make any changes, you’ll need to register for a new e-vignette.
